A CHECKLIST YOU CAN USE

Check what your roofing quote includes

Have one written quote ready. For each item below, tell us whether you can find it in the quote. We’ll give you questions about anything missing or confusing.

Look for the manufacturer, panel style, and finish or color being offered.

Does the price include taking off the existing roof materials and disposing of the debris?

The roof deck is the supporting surface beneath the roofing, often wood panels or boards. Ask how repairs are priced if damage is found.

Look for work around vents, chimneys, skylights, and where the roof meets a wall. These water-shedding details are often called flashing.

Look for protection of landscaping and belongings, plus where crews, materials, and vehicles will go.

Look for who arranges required permits and inspections and whether their fees are included.

Look for how you will be told about a change and how you approve its price before the work proceeds.

Look for the amount due at each stage and what must happen before that payment is requested.

Product and installation warranties may come from different companies. Look for what each covers and whom to contact.
